Are Your Rights Respected?
(Gay and Lesbian Archives – Deaf Oral History Project and Outreach Programme: 2006)
This is a 12-page sexual health comic for Deaf youth. It was lauded as the first of its kind in the world and has received international attention. The story covers the topics of HIV, sexual abuse and sexual orientation. I developed it together with StoryWorks, in consultation with the Gay and Lesbian Archives at The University of the Witwatersrand, with the support of the Foundation for Human Rights and the European Union. The artwork for Are Your Rights Protected? was created by famous South African Deaf artist, Tommy Motswai.
